‘Achieving Together ● Inspired To Be Successful’

PE

Our PE program aims to deliver dynamic, inclusive, and challenging physical education through two 1-hour sessions per week using The PE Hub scheme. Lessons will focus on a variety of activities, including gymnastics, dance, badminton, tennis, tag rugby, swimming, athletics, and more, ensuring all pupils are engaged and enjoy a breadth of experiences.

Children wear PE uniforms on PE days, maximizing time for physical activity. Year 4 pupils participate in swimming lessons during allocated sessions, with Year 6 catch-up lessons provided in Summer 2 ensuring every child gains this essential skill.

We partner with Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United Football Club to provide specialist coaching and inspirational sessions, deepening engagement and fostering skill development. Lunchtime and after-school extracurricular activities will offer opportunities for pupils to further explore sports such as football, netball, cricket, and athletics. Weekly inter-school competitions in a wide range of sports will build excitement and nurture teamwork, resilience, and school pride.

Sports leaders (pupils) organise active play during breaks and lunchtimes, encouraging peer leadership and promoting physical activity throughout the school day.

Special events, including sports days and themed activity weeks, are planned to ensure all pupils find joy in participating and celebrating their progress. Our goal is to cultivate lifelong enthusiasm for physical activity and well-being, with every child feeling motivated, supported, and empowered through our comprehensive PE program.
