At Park Spring, PSHE is taught through a carefully planned and progressive curriculum that is delivered weekly and revisited through a spiral approach as pupils move through school. Our curriculum is structured to ensure knowledge and skills are built upon year on year and are responsive to the needs of our pupils. We use the You, Me, PSHE scheme for our main PSHE lessons, alongside the MindMate programme and Pol-Ed, as well as high-quality texts, discussion-based learning, and real-life contexts to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development. Learning is age-appropriate, inclusive, and underpinned by safeguarding, with strong links made to assemblies, themed weeks, and wider school life. The PSHE curriculum is organised around the following key topic areas: Identity, society and equality Physical health and wellbeing Mental health and emotional wellbeing Keeping safe and managing risk Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Careers, financial capability and economic wellbeing Drug, alcohol and tobacco education Life changes and transition These themes ensure pupils develop the knowledge, understanding, and skills needed to: Make informed choices Build positive relationships Prepare for life beyond Park Spring By the time our pupils leave Park Spring, they will: Implementation
