Autumn Term

Autumn 1 (2019)

We follow the children’s interests in Nursery. This half-term we are really practising putting things away as soon as we have finished playing with them, looking after our classroom and making new friends. We have also been practising ‘Showing 5’ on the carpet during our Group Times.

We have just started our Phonics session and, as well as focusing on the important skills that Phase One of ‘Letters and Sounds’ equips us with (rhyming, alliteration, hearing different noises around us), we have also started to think about our ‘Sound of the Week’. We will be thinking about sounds in the following order: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k…

Autumn 2 (2019)

Mrs Waters enjoyed teaching Nursery with Mrs Jones and Mr Hammerton. The children loved getting involved in the stories of Stick Man, Goldilocks and the Rainbow Fish.
