Admissions – Nursery

NURSERY PLACES AVAILABLE FOR 2024/25

Applying for Nursery Places

Park Spring Primary School have 52 nursery places available each year. You can register your child on our waiting list as soon as your child is born, and children will be eligible to start in our nursery the half term after their third birthday.

All children are eligible for 15 hours free nursery education per week the term after they have turned 3.

To register your child for a nursery place at Park Spring, please contact the School Office or our EYFS Leader on admissions@parkspringprimary.co.uk.

Parents can make a preference for beginning of the week (Monday and Tuesday 9:00 – 3:15 and Wednesday morning 9:00 – 11:30) or end of the week sessions (Wednesday afternoon 12:45 – 3.15 and Thursday and Friday 9:00 – 3:15).

We try our very best to accommodate your first preference however we cannot guarantee that you will get your first choice of session as we take the children in birth order and sometimes the sessions do fill up.

If all sessions are full at the time your child becomes eligible to start our Nursery, they will have to wait until September before they are able to commence their sessions.

We are able to offer a limited number of children a 30-hour place. If you would like your child to attend Nursery for 30 hours across the week and you can access the free 30-hour code, please speak to our EYFS Leader.

You will be contacted by our Nursery Team nearer to your child’s 3rd birthday, to arrange a mutually convenient time for a home visit to be carried out and to discuss suitable transition visits for your child into nursery.

Should you wish to visit our school for a tour or request an information booklet, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Nursery School Day

From September 2024, in response to parent feedback, we changed the start and end times of our Nursery’s education sessions.

Our education sessions run from 9am – 3pm every day. This is a slightly shorter day than the rest of school, which runs from 8.45am – 3.15pm, but reflects the 15-hour and 30-hour free Nursery education allocations.

We recognise that some parents may require wraparound care for their child/ren. Therefore, we offer wraparound care within our Nursery classroom 8.45 – 9.00am and 3.00 – 3.15pm each day for any parents who require it.

Children who attend Nursery for 15 hours

Children are entitled to wrap around care 8.45 – 9.00am. If you would like your child to arrive at Nursery at 8.45am, this will need to be paid for everyday they attend Nursery.

The charge for this is £1.13 per 15-minute session.

Children who attend Nursery for 30 hours

Children are entitled to wrap around care 8.45 – 9.00am and 3.00 – 3.15pm.

If you would like your child to arrive at Nursery at 8.45am and leave at 3.15pm, this will need to be paid for everyday they attend Nursery.

The charge for this is £1.13 per 15-minute session.

Breakfast Club and After School Club

Nursery children are now able to access our before and after school club wraparound care.

There are two slots for our breakfast club – 7.30am and 8.15am. If you would like your child to attend from 7.30am, the daily charge is £4.50. If you would like your child to attend from 8.15am, the daily charge is £2.25.

If you would like your child to attend our after-school club, we offer wraparound care Monday to Thursday from 3.30 to 6pm. This is £12 per day. On Fridays, it is £10 from 3.30 to 5.30.

Due to child-to-adult ratio requirements, we are only able to offer a limited number of places for our wraparound care. If you would like to reserve a place, please contact our school office on 0113 2552526 or email us at office@parkspringprimary.co.uk.
