During Spring 1, Year 4 went to the Yorkshire Museum of Farming as an introduction to their Anglo-Saxon topic. It was an amazing trip, where children took part in a ‘day in the life’ style adventure. year 4 were shown into the Great Meadhall, before being taken across to the village…
When we entered the village, each group was assigned to a village role. We had:
Guard duty…
Bread making…
Farming….
Pottery making….
The village was the attacked by an invader, and Year 4 protected it, before learning all about Anglo-Saxons in their small Anglo-Saxon house.
Overall, a wonderful day out!
