October is our month for studying Black History. With schools across the country we use October to REFLECT, APPRECIATE and UNDERSTAND the struggles and TRIUMPHS of the black community. As part of our British Values studies we aim to develop our MUTUAL RESPECT. This morning in assembly we chose two amazing black athletes to learn about : Sir Mo Farrah and Michael Jordan.
We will celebrate the lives of those people in the black community that are making / have made a positive difference to ALL of our lives in our class assemblies and discussions over the next three weeks and will have events across Week 8 to study what we can learn from how the black community has been treated throughout history. Please ask your children all about what they are learning this month!
