Y3 Trip to Synagogue

Last week, year 3 were very lucky to be able to go and visit the synagogue in Shadwell to answer our RE learning question: What does it mean to be a Jew? We got to go into the main synagogue and learn lots of different things – we even got to see the Torah! We also went into the mini synagogue and learnt a lot about the menorah, the star of David and other Jewish symbols. As a sign of respect, the boys wore kippahs on their heads, as this is what Jewish boys wear on Shabbat – the Jewish religious day (Saturday).
