In year 3 we have been looking at our local area and the rocks within it. Today we looked at the three different types of rocks and how they are formed. We found out that Sedimentary rocks are formed with layers of sand and clay and they are pressed together, usually by the sea. Metamorphic rocks are formed with some heat added and they change shape and Igneous rocks start off as a liquid and are formed when they are cooled. We created some rocks out of chocolate! AND even got to eat them after. Check out some images below.
