The third set of ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ cooking sessions has now begun! This week we used some food from our ‘Fuel for School’ market stall to create two healthy dishes.
We made a salad with croutons, and banana pancakes with raspberries, grapes and a raspberry sauce.
New cutting skills were practised – the bridge and claw methods. Some children even tried new foods – Well Done!
It is amazing to think that all of this food (except the flour and eggs) was destined to go to landfill from our local food suppliers.
We can all say the food was delicious and healthy! We are looking forward to next weeks’ session to see what we can make from some of the food that is delivered. Why don’t you give it a go at home and send us some of your pictures?
Thank you to Alfie and Marilyn, Beth and David and Charlie and Jen for working together really well.
