Today Year 6 joined squadron 612B with Major Benson, Major Fowler and Major Poppleton. They listened to Winston Churchill’s announcement that the country was at war and wrote a diary entry thinking about how they felt.
Once they were kit up in their army gear they added some mud to their faces to look as dirty as possible. As you can see from some of the photos the children loved this far too much!
They were put through their paces with Major Shane running around and army crawling across the field. They had to complete an army assault course to help build team work. Even Miss Benson and Miss Poppleton had a go and got stuck. The children had so much fun and were fully embedded and emerged in learning about WW2 and what it felt like to be in the army
