Democracy day in KS2

On the 7th May children at Park Spring took part in democracy day. In key stage 2 we spent the day creating manifestos, deciding what we do if we ran the school, thinking about democracy, voting, choices and rights and understanding the voting process. Each class voted for a group to present in the key stage 2 elections in the afternoon. The children excitedly chanted for their own parties and each year group made their speech. A vote (just like the elections) happened and the winners were announced. Year 6 won and now have to see if Mrs Horan will let them make the changes they proposed when they run the school for the day.

It was such an exciting day and we thank all the parents/carers and children for wearing their parties colours. Well done to all the key stage 2 classes and all the effort that they put in on the day!
