Last week 12/01/17, KS1 made brain models of play dough. In Nurture, they have been learning about the brain and how different parts of the brain work and what each part does.
We’ve learnt that the Cerebrum helps us speak & think, Cerebellum helps muscles to coordinate movement & balance, Prefrontal Cortex lets you make plans & decisions, Hippocampus helps you store & find memories, Amygdala is a tightly packed group of cells deep within the centre of the brain that controls are emotions and lastly Neurons are everywhere in the brain. They are tiny brain cells that make electrical signals to send messages to other cells in your body telling them what to do.
