Welcome to
Park Spring Primary School

‘Achieving Together ● Inspired To Be Successful’

Child Protection & Inclusion Teams

Over the past couple of days, Park Spring has been getting into the festive spirit! We have spent time letting children and parents decorate our classrooms to look as amazing as possible. Our secret judges then quickly went around on Tuesday morning and voted on their favorite rooms!

They were…..

KS1: Year 2

KS2: 4B

Well done to all classes for their amazing effort, and thanks to all the parents who attended or sent in decorations!

This week, Year 4 have been beginning to make our own newspapers! To begin this topic, we have been identifying key features of newspapers, using actual newspapers to help us. Here is some of our amazing learning as we tried to find all the features we could.

This week, 4B have been finishing off their amazing diaries, in which they wrote from the perspective of a WW1 solider on the front lines. Their writing was amazing and included lots of detailed description. Well done 4B!

Year 6 had an amazing time yesterday visiting The Discovery Center and the Royal Armouries. They took part in a Stone Age workshop, where they were able to excavate artifacts and create a giant timeline.

Some children’s quotes from the trip.
Katie said ” I liked excavating the artifacts in the sand and re burying them for others to find.”
Harry said “I enjoyed seeing the stuffed animals in the hold at the discovery center.

Miss Benson’s group loved watching some of the sword fighting at the Royal Armouries and lots of photos of the children were taken. Thank you to parents for their contribution to this amazing trip!

Firstly, a huge thanks to all the children, staff and parents who helped make this years Children in Need celebration a fantastic event. From sponsored runs to online duck races, children have taken part in numerous events over the past week. We are proud to say that, at the most recent count, we have raised over £900! A Park Spring record! We’ll be sure to let you know the final amount when we have sent off the money.

Mr Shaw

Last week, Year 4 took part in our very own Battle of Hastings re-enactment on the school playground. We followed this up with a feast fit for a king in our classrooms. What a way to start our Royals topic and we look forward to carrying on with some amazing learning for the rest of the term!
